The only thing I do different is to put the car up on axle stands this give the suspension a rest stops the seals sticking in the place the will be used most , also stops flat spots on my tyres .

For all you owners who worry about leaving the car standing over the winter months. Here's my method.

The Griff's been laid up since the beginning of November, I just pumped up the tyres nice and hard, stuck a cover over it and put it on a battery conditioner.

I obviously left the handbrake off, but the car hasn't been started until today, so thats the best part of 5 months.

I do exact same thing but rotate the engine by hand once a month so as not to park the valve springs in the same position(full lift)for to long,i stick a smelly diesel rag in the engine bay to deter rodents which i re-soak from time to time, seems to do the trick laugh

What a great vid. Top marks Quinny.
Taxed mine this morning, and am planning to go for a spin on the weekend, so excited.
I religiously start mine up once a week, let it warm up, then drive it in and out of the garage a few times. And cycle through all the electrics also. Seemed to do the trick on my previous Griff so thats my tried and tested method for the winter.

Wishing you a great season in yours smile

Judging by the size of your Mog it's no wonder why! wink

She's a beauty by the way (the car, not the cat). It must be a wonderful feeling turning the key & having her roar into life that way. biggrin I know I crap myself after leaving mine for just a couple of weeks... laugh

Edited to say, I too, have jack envy...

The cat (Wally) is the best part of 9kg and a proper nasty bd with ithehe Even the dogs give him a wide birthyikeshehe

One of the reasons for the vid, other than showing the car off, was to try and put to bed some of the missinformation regarding winter storage.

When I had my bikes I did exactly the same thing
1. Battery charger
2. Pump the tyres up or (paddock stands)
3. Stick a cover over.
4. Leave the bloody thing alone until it was ready for use again

I never had any trouble.

As long as you have a well ventilated garage, or dry storage and a battery conditioner thats all you need do for up to 6 or 7 months anyway.

Everyone has a different view, but I think starting the car up every couple of weeks or so is more harmfull than leaving it alone.
I agree totally with that last sentence thumbup in other words if you dont drive it then dont run it wink nice Griff by the way smokin would like a workshop at home like that instead mines at my place of work frown still cant grumble wink

Sorry, I should clarify... I meant if I start it up after two weeks when I want to use it to go somewhere. I didn't mean just randomly cranking it over for the sake of it. I've used the Tiv all winter except for when the weather was really bad. wink

Plastic mate. From Costco. They clip together and are supposed to withstand heavy use.

Mind you with my new sex toy, jack doesn't see much use, cos of the sex toy you seehehe

Did I mention I had a new toy??hehe

You might just be able to pick the toy out in the videohehe
yikes

I cant see a ramp/lift

What tiles then Quinny? Can't find them on the net and I've been looking at these for a while.
Found some cheaper ones aren't really suitable to putting in a garage - more of a gym/workshop floor. The only ones I've found good enough for putting under a car are bloody expensive.

Nice painted floor for me, redone this winter.

I enjoyed your video, good to see another 'enthusiast' share the love! biggrin

Ps:ooh ooh!...can i use your ramp???hehe

Very nice Griff, and i agree with the struggle to get in/out of these cars, but i guess it doesn't help that i had major spinal surgery recently! frown
