To paint or not to paint

I have just spent the afternoon putting the Chim on axle stands and preparing the chassis for it's annual waxoyl. When I first bought the car I scraped off all the surface rust and painted it with red oxide and hammerite. I went under the car a year later and found the chassis still in good order, the waxoyl was still there apart from where the paint had came off and those parts were unprotected so I just scraped off the loose paint and waxoyl'ed again. I now find that the chassis is still good but I am wondering if it is worth painting it again, most of the paint has come off the outriggers and I think the paint will not last as long as the waxoyl Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Pies, how much would I need to paint the chassis on the Chim?

Got a few days off coming up and just discovered an inspection pit at work

Thanks for your reply Colin, por-15 looks very interesting but I would probably have to remove all the existing waxoyl first. As I'm a bit short of time at the moment I wiil give it another blast of waxoyl and look into por-15 for next year.

the smaller pot will be enough to do a chassis as the paint is quite free flowing and not very viscous
