Dual Stage fan control question for the Emerald owners
Discussion
Hi, I'm just about to install a new alloy rad along with a combination of one original fan and one new upgraded one after I found one of the old ones knackered... Since I've heard that these rads can over cool the engine in some circumstances, I have a plan to wire up the dual stage fan control and run it so that one original fan comes on in normal operation, with a big one boosting things if the standard one can't cope.
It's been a while since I've been digging around the wiring loom though and I was just going to ask how people have wired theirs? Are there two relays for the fans already or do they currently run off one big one? I have some spare relays around so I could just wire up a new feed for the new fan if I have to but would rather just modify the original if at all possible. If there are two control relays, where abouts are they in the fusebox and how do I best get to them to alter the wiring?
Thanks in advance!

Your car would have had one fan relay originally at '97 year,i think. They were later changed to two relays but many earlier cars have already been modded this way as the single relay wasnt great.I would definately wire in a second relay anyway which you could easily switch off the first one but as you have a second emerald output it isn't really necesary. The neat way is to pull the fuseboard out and find your second fan output and remove it and join to your new relay switched by your second emerald output. If you find your fan relay from your handbook you should easily be able to find your fan output wires by tracing out with a multimeter.I think on mine they were pink from memory,so perhaps look for that colour first.
