Looking to borrow a vacuum advance.

Does anyone have a RV8 vac advance knocking around. I think mine has died, just want to check out another to see if it cures a problem.
Have tested mine and pretty sure its a duffer.
Will send it back when done of course undamaged.

Best way to test it with the engine running is to suck on the tube - you should only be able to suck a certain amount before you can't suck any more - and the revs should increase due to ignition advance.
If you can continually suck on the tube then the diaphragm has a hole and needs to be replaced.
I also had a problem with mine in that it had been faulty for so long that the mechanism had seized inside the distributor.

I have done some suck tests with the unit removed, pretty sure I can suck continously. I did try blowing to and I swear I could feel air coming out of it. Should have tried the on car test too. Will give that a go on the weekend, I'm pretty sure its shot though, just dont want to buy one unless I know for sure its pooped out.
