Yesterday i went out for a 'trundle' in the chim'
it ran perfectly, sweet and smooth picking up
nicely and when i 'booted it' it flew.
Today it's like a different car! Pick up is poor
and it felt 'hesitant', even the exhaust note
sounded different. The weather conditions were
similar...WTF

It is kept outside and it's my daily driver,
but i don't think that makes a difference.
We haven't had any rain here and in any case
the 'old girl' usually runs ok when it's raining!
(since i siliconed the engine bay grommets the
interior is dry anyway)

If it's any concellation I've experience this with both TVR's I've had + an Elise. I don't know if it's down to density of the air, ( cold winter air definately seems to result in better performance - from the engine that is! ),or the density of my brain, or what? I'm generally talking about higher end performance not cruising speeds. On the good days it really flies. On the others it just seems 5/10% less powerfull. Must be psycological I think? It's a bit like golf - two rounds, same weather, no hangover, same balls, etc, etc..one round superb, next one garbage. No apparent reason? And before you ask it's a Griff, ( although did have a Chim once ).

Different fuel ? I was out last week on one of my bikes, and filled it with Texaco High Octane fuel. As I was riding along it suddenly just felt different, a lot more responsive and more powerful, obviously as the new fuel got through. I'm going to put some in my Griff at the next fill to see if the same thing happens.

My Chimaera used to run rough on occasion.
It used to miss fire.
Traced the problem to one of the HT leads tracking on the silver heat sheald on the inside of the bonnet. secured the leads properly an the problem was cured.
But like I say this was a miss fire problem.

I had this on the Tam and it was the HT leads. It was OK one day and rough the next and was missing when I booted it. New leads and she is back to her old self.
