My laptop dosen't have a serial port, so i got a USB to Serial adaptor. When i link the car up and run the diagnostic software it says 'unable to activate serial port', i reloaded the adapter driver but it still wont pick it up. Any ideas? Anybody using the software and cable with a USB adapter?

Cheers

Ensure you have installed the correct driver 1st

Go to control panel, system, hardware, device manager

Then expand the tree to see the USB device

Then assign com1 or com2 to the USB
You may have move an existing if already assigned to com1,2

Only if you use com2, press f10 key in tvr software to change to com2
