Went to the O2 yesterday to see Nickleback, who were bloody superb. Got to the O2 early, so we caught the Tube to Canary wharf for some food and drink. First Bar we came across was called Smolenski’s ! has this anything to do with the Ex TVR Rusky?
Ended up walking out as the service was terrible, fat globules in the coffee and 10 mins for a beer.
Anyway, isn’t it nice to be let out of a car park by all and sundry, never been treated like that in any other car smile

I hope not! It is a bit of a tosser bar though. Worked just round the corner till I moved recently. Sort of place where the barmen dance about while opening your bottle of beer and then flick the top accross the room with the opener. Then charge you £4 for the priveledge.

I unfortunately work opposite Smollenski's,IRC it has nothing to do with him.The Bar's spelling of the name has an extra 'L' in it. wink

Vaguely remember going there for an LA Gear christmas party in the 90's sometime. Wasn't it called Smollenskys balloon or something like that? Or is that another place? One drunken recollection is much like another these days......

It is a chain owned by the likes of Leisuretime/Inter-brew etc

They are all pretty poor.

It was this place. Was Smollenskys balloon then reopened as Smollenskys American bar. Whatever it was called it was crap from what I remember of it (which wasn't much).
