After some advice please. My '99 4.5 Cerbera has been written off by my insurace company. They have valued it a about £1.5k below what similar specification 4.5s are being advertised at on this website. Do I have to accept their valuation or can I ask for more? I have sent copies of adverts on this site, full service history documentation, upgrades etc. to the company.

It's standard procedure for an insurance company to offer less. Just stand your ground and accept only what you insured the car for.

i had this problem with my insureance co last year i got as many adverts as i could for simular cars
and a letter from my local dealer valueing the car they after much arguement upped the offer slightly
but not as much as i wanted after lots of phone calls to the valuer we reached a stale mate
as he reconed cars advertised at a dealer would include a warranty and the price would be nagotiable
had the choice then go to arbitration with ombudsman or take offer i took the offer as i wanted the money for new car and arbitration would take some time had the last laugh though as they sold the salvage back to me for 4% of the valuation

What happened Mark?

Are you OK?

I think there's a chap on here who is an expert in these things, Annie's Dad.

Hi Dave, I'm ok, just a few stitches in a head wound, car is a mess though. Can't say too much at present but I will fill in the details when I next see you.
