Question about opening doors
Discussion
TVRs from the Cerbera on (I believe) have the door opening solenoid actuated by a small button under the mirror. There is also a mechanical linkage that can be accessed from outside the car (IF you know how, no need to go into that though). I beleive there is also a mechanical linkage inside the car (not 100% sure though).
I'm copying the idea to use on my Lotus Europa, so have picked up quite a bit of info.

now before anyone does, I don't want anyone posting "how do I open the car without unlocking it/flat battery/both wingmirrors missing" etc, as sadly scroates are everywhere and would enjoy reading the answer. ![]()

Fair enough, but I'd rather they opened the door rather than put a brick through the window!

Oh ok. I have door handles on mine. But they keep sticking when I open the car so I have the reverse problem, I can't shut the door.
Ahh... but you have Ford Capri handles, no?
Not sure, do Capri Handles have TVR stamped/molded into them?
Because mine do.
Ok.. S series door handles...
S1 1.5 and 2 have plain handles, these are from:
Ford Capri Mk II
Ford Taunus Mk III (Cortina Mk III (or is it IV?)
Ford Escort Mk II
Ford Granada Mk I
(all use the same handle)
Then there is some debate... the S3C should have handles as above but stamped with a TVR logo, and as for the S3, well I think some didn't and later ones did.
Matt.

On a similar theme; say you'd locked your car up for a couple of weeks and the battery went flat - how would you get back into the car? You couldn't even lift the bonnet to take the battery out to charge it could you?
They're by no means the hardest cars to get into, whether you've got a key or not, flat battery or not. Took me about 30 seconds when i had a flat battery from being outside the car to sitting in the seat and having the bonnet open.
There is a manual door lock hidden away, but mines been disconnected.
Mail me if you want to low down!!

) so, as winter is coming, and the possibility may arise when i need to get into the car with battery dead, could someone mail me and tell me how to... just in case, that is
