I see you have a SatNav system; Is it an after market fitment?

We are developing (in association with Carisma Automotive) an in-built satnav system where the screen will be mounted in a roof panel that will replace the existing front rollbar cladding.

Ted,
Did you refuse Zertec an advertising place?
The guy is posting his publicity here and there and it's starting to get on my nerves ...

Chill out ! I dont think we are falling over ourselves with specialists who supply innovative stuff for Cerbies. There is a fine line here but currently it feels like a couple of postings now and again is ok and is in fact useful. I am sure Ted will smack them or anyone else that steps over the line.

Of course his information is useful, but still he's trying to sell his products.
PH is, to my knowledge, not a Zertec dealership

No but Zertec do sponsor this site so where appropriate I have no problem with Clive butting in.

Sorry but I have to add that this was not appropriate to post this here.
The aim of my question was if TVR offered satnav as an option.
What is more Zertec are 'developing' their own system: Through this I think I have to understand it is not available yet

Thom my cerbera had a sat nav system when the previous owner had it (ie not anymore). It was fitted aftermarket. The screen was a pop out from the stereo (for want of a better way of describing). There was then some stuff in the boot.

I think that's the same system Danny has.

The SatNav is the Alpine one, with MD in the head unit - IVAM700R with the NVE-N055PV route guidance thingy. Plus CD changer, TV tuner (seemed silly not to get it for an extra 100 quid!), rockford fosgate amp & sub. What amazes me is that it's still appears to be the one they advertise in current magazines; I would have thought it had been superseded pretty quickly (two years old now).

I think it's ace. My car is purely for fun, and I often go places I've never been before - it's great not having to work out routes or do any preparation in advance, and just drive wherever you feel like on a nice road.

It can get a bit confused in complex towns & cities if you're driving hard, but otherwise it matches itself to the road pretty well.

Recommended as a rather expensive toy!

Surprised that the satnav is the most interesting thing about the car... and probably adds another 15kg excess weight!

Completely agree with Danny. I have a VDO SatNav system in my Tuscan (model MS5000). This is a separate removeable screen (mounted on the dash shelf) with remote control and a controller unit (mounted on the roof of the passenger footwell out of the way). All finished in silver to match the Tuscan's interior.

Find it invaluable these days, stops me getting lost, finds petrol stations for me (excellant!) plus all the gizmos of where you are, how long to go etc.

Very much a luxury, but a bloody useful one.

Jarrett

P.S. Has a few problems when the Tuscan speedo goes do-lally or the gearbox reversing contact isn't aligned but then it is fitted to a TVR!

Where do you get a 'mobile' sat nav system?
I thought they were too expensive items to be sold apart from cars...
