Hello everyone. Having a great day. Woke up this morning to find my Chim up on bricks. Insurance have been fine. Don't want to get into the ins and outs of it as it's happened now and you're always wiser after the event. Just wanted to ask if anyone knew of a full set of Estorils for sale as I'm pretty desperate.

Also, if you spot a full set of Estorils on any of the usual websites, decent condition with just one scuff shod in a part worn set of Toyo Proxy T1Rs then let me know on this thread.

Thanks,
James

Sorry to hear about this. Most likely on a Chaved up shed I'm afraid.

Maybe keep an eye on places like ebay?

Isn’t this the second set of Estorils to be stolen in the London area within the last few months?

I’m sure someone else posted up, possibly on bricks too. Perhaps it’s worth looking up who it was and seeing if the combined evidence from both cases is more useful.

Hmmm - I'll do a search to see if there are similarities that I can inform the Police of, though without fingerprints on the car or anything left behind by the thieves they won't get involved as there is nothing for them to work from.

There was no other damage so at least that's lucky. Managed to source a full replacement set so at least I won't be without wheels for long.

Cheers for the well wishes.

Maybe we could all just keep an eye on ebay and sites like that? Worth a try.

I'm loathed to think this but, if both thefts are the same thieves, then they now have a set of 16" all round.

We should also watch for anyone who suddenly aquires a set without an obvious legitimate source.

Especially if they're selling some 15" fronts.

The trend is towards 16" all round because of the difficulty in getting 15 and 16 tyres of the same speed rating. I had to go down this route and get another full set and ebay the 15"s, as the lower speed rated tyres were uninsurable for tracks days. It's depressing that thieves have identified and exploited the demand.

This has made 16" wheels so desirable and I suppose whilst their at it, they have the front one as well.

May I ask did you have locking wheel nuts? I asked Simon from Leven Tech a couple of years ago and he said no demand, as no one nicks TVR wheels, how things have changed.

It may help, but I noticed yesterday that Halfords now sell the same range of locking wheel nuts the TVR specialists offer, didn' t compare the prices though.

Hi James

I had the same thing done to my Griff in early April, PM me if you want to discuss.
