Hi,

Is it something that i can get done by the local auto center or is it really best to to to a TVR indie?

Anybody been to one local to West Midlands?

Some are good and some not. EG I went to a TVR indy and asked them to do the geometry, amongst other things. They assured me it had been done, but the car felt no different. I then went to a place that my local TVR dealer uses - an accident repair centre that does chassis realignment - and they found 3 out of wheels wrong. Afterwards the car felt significantly better round corners.

Best to find one that's been recommended, I think.

We do have the necessary equipment to carry out 4 wheel alignment on any car. We can also set cambers and castors and check them. We use laser equipment which is extremely accurate which has worked fine on our race cars.

David Gerald has just done mine on the S3, and made a cracking job. But I'm sure a race engineer knows whats what.

Talking about wheel alignment.

Can anyone give me the geometry values for the front and back wheels for a Griffiths 500 so that I can give to my local garage that has laser equiptments to get the alignments done.

Midland classic restorations on the A449 bwetween kidderminster and WOrcester can also do it.

They have a 4 wheel alignment rig plus caster ect.

My chims going on it this week. ( and the race car next week)

Just had mine done at Autotune in Hinkley. Its transformed the car, and they set the ride hight (after a spring change) and waxoyld the chassis as well. Very impressed.

Could i ask what price range this costed or even the individual breakdowns?

The wheel alignment and ride hight adjustment was £80+vat (2 hours work) the waxoil was about £110+vat (2 hours plus the cost of the waxoil). The whole thing was £240 inc vat. It took about 2 days.
