Does the original steering column adjuster just unscrew when replacing with the Leven item?

Yep its a simple unscrew the old one and screw in the new, or at least it was when I did mine.

The steering column adjuster is just screwed into the mechanism inside the column shroud. It is normally held in place with some thread lock.If it is tight try undoing it wearing rubber kitchen gloves as this gives better grip.
Tip. Note the angle it is at before removal to ensure that the new one is not fitted cross threaded.
