Is it completely impossible to obtain a CoC for a 1999 Chim?

Hello there.

I am a new Chim owner originally from the UK but now living in France. I need to get my 1999 Chim registered in France. I know how the system works here (have read all the posts on the French forum and done my research) and the long and the short of it is that I'm in for a long battle with the authority unless I can somehow find a Certificate of Conformity for my car (which as an e*11... type approval).

Is it completely impossible to get a CoC nowadays? Are TVR completely dead and buried? Can someone "find" me one?

Hello, there is no C o C for any TVR as they were all produced under UK Low Volume Type Approval. What you should be able to get is the Euro Status Directive and the e.11 number that you need for this is stamped on the plate under the bonnet of your car. I'll see if I can find the Euro Status Directive sheet for any of the Chimearas that we have sold in the past! The other thing to do would be to speak with other folks who have them registered over there and perhaps the original TVR dealer for France who was, I think, Jacques Savoy and was based in Paris and Nantes??

Thank you. But I've been told quite clearly by TVR owners who have registered their cars in France that there was a CoC for Chimaeras and that the factory in Blackpool used to issue them (usually through the dealers). Now I'm very confused!

Does anyone else know the answer i.e. can show me an old CoC?

But any info on the Euro Status Directive would be helpful and much appreciated too.

When not phone one of the bigger TVR dealers like Racing - who I'm sure will know the answer to this.

They must have exported a few for customers.

I think one of the "bigger" TVR dealers (certainly the longest established) has just given you the answer??

Otherwise James Birkby TVRMads (TVRinBFG on here)has exported many cars and should be able to help.

If anyone has a copy of either a Certificate of Conformity (if they exist for TVR) or a Euro Status Directive sheet for a 1994 Griffith 500, please PM me.

I plan to retire to France and will need it when I go.
