Flat Battery

Been at work all day, just been told that my battery is flat. Any advice as I am about to call the AA. I have a accumate attached in the boot, do I get them to jump from somewhere in the boot or do I need them to get access to the battery?

Don't know if your accumate wiring will take the starting amps?

There should be an Anderson connector under the battery (passenger footwell), but it is probably full of crap and they'll need the right lead.

I suspect he'll want to break in and jump her at the battery itself.

Not sure about the AA, the RAC use an anderson connector in the grille of their vans to attach jump leads to so they *may* have the right cable to hand.

The AA do as well although it requires a bit of hacking at with a saw to fit for some reason, the nice man in yellow was happy to do it though when he came to my rescue with a knackered alternator.

The incredibly helpful AA man did not have the correct connector, we ended up removing the front wheel, gaining access to the battery, but the connectors on his jump leads were so big they would not fit in the limited space and he had to make up some smaller ones, charge my battery for a while and then I got started.
He was not impressed! About an hour and a quarter for a flat battery.
I must by a connector for the plug under the car

One of the first things I did after buying my Chim was to get Jump Start/Charge Leads fitted.

The connector is under the bonnet and I carry the matching leads in the boot. I've managed to flatten my battery a couple of times and the leads have come in very handy for getting a jump start from someone else's car.

Better to keep them in one of the cubby holes behind the seats, if your battery is totally flat you cant open the boot.....
