I'm having major withdrawl symptoms!
Don't get me wrong I love my new toy (a Caterham). In many ways it's as special to own as the TVR, it's manic to hoon around in and it's a lot better on track - I don't think I could not have one. But I really miss having a Trevor too, there's just something about the sense of occasion that they imbue. Sadly combining the two would be a financial impossibility (not least because I fancy a T-car next), but I thought I'd come in here and whinge at you.
So I need a money making scheme that will allow me to run three cars. Any ideas?

Went in an R500 demonstrator earlier this year, WOW loved it, would have one but only alongside TiV.

Even at the time I was quite reluctant to let it go, but basically it spent more time on tracks than it did on the road during the first half of this year. I honestly can't think of a car I'd rather drive on the road for the same sort of money, but even though it handled beautifully it wasn't right for track use. If nothing else I was paranoid about scratching the damn thing, because it was quite a shiny example.
So I've now got a somewhat battle-scarred ex-race Caterham, which I can bounce over rumble strips and potentially park in the gravel without too much guilt. Technically it's a Roadsport A so it comes with a close ratio 6-speed 'box, wider track, Minister-built 1.6 K-Series, dry sump, limited slip diff and various other go faster bits. Straightline performance is about the same as a standard Superlight, although I'm told they lap about the same speed as an R300. It does feel a bit compromised on the road though - would like a TVR for fast road use and a Caterham for the track really, but no way I could afford it.

Chris , you need both , I have an HPC vx '7' with a few extra bits and 190bhp , plus a seac , not easy to walk into the garage and make a decision on which to blat !( The best way to enjoy a '7' is to take the screen off , its even faster and windier )Don't get me wrong I love my new toy (a Caterham). Oh I definitely need both. It may be a financial impossibility, but it doesn't stop me having a physical need for one of each.
Yesterday I did actually find myself wondering about a FHC wedge (again), but I suppose while a solid roof and a reasonable boot look practical on paper it would still take a fair degree of commitment to one run as an everyday car!
Back in the real world...
I think some slightly softer springs and dampers would really benefit the Seven. I took it out last night, and with an unadjustable racing setup you spend an alarming ammount of time with at least one wheel off the ground on a typical B-road! Up until the point I really can afford that TVR for road use I think a slightly less hardcore setup would help.

Having moved from a Westfield to an S3 know all the benefits, but still miss the westy for quick blasts round the local back roads. Can travel a lot further with the S though and SWMBO is a lot happier.
If money and a bigger garage were available would love another 7 though alongside the S.

Not an option I'm afraid. As many have said though I would have both if I could afford it. A Speed Six car does appeal for the next one though. Maybe once funds allow I can look into a Tamora!
