Never had this before

Out in the cerb yesterday and on the way home was heading south on the A1 North of Morpeth. This section of the A1 is single carriageway and I was stuck behind approx 15 cars all doing 45-50 mph with no chance of overtaking. I had had my fun for the day earlier on and was just on way home as said, so though I'd just hang back and wait for the Dual Carriage way about 5 miles ahead (at this point).
As I had been stuck behind these cars for some time I started to get a bit bored, the road here is very wide, easily enough for 4 cars to pass each other, but still only single carriageway. So...... I decided to just start pissing around, casually swerving back and forth in my lane, singing why are we waiting etc etc and having a general good laugh with the OH.
The bloke in the car behind started laughing too, he must have had a guess at what I was doing, but the car in front......the kids in the back were turning round looking at me (no problem there) but the driver was shaking his head.
As we hit the dual carriageway I put my foot down and caught up to the cars in front and started overtaking, Mr Zafira (the car in front) pulls out on front of me, so I let him go, he overtakes the second car and I once again put my foot down, overtaking about 5 or 6 cars (giggling away as I was going pretty fast by now).
I decided enough was enough and slowed down to the speed limit. Mr Zafira comes tearing past me (90ish), big fat bloke in the passenger seat, giving me the fingers, then as he passes the kids are giving it the bird also (approx 6 and 9 year olds). My OH is slightly stunned by this.
OH: "WTF are they doing that for?"
Me: "ahhhh envy is a cruel thing."
OH: "catch up now"
Me: "ok"
so 20 second later we are back behind them, he pulls over, we go past and OH gives them the same back then laughs (this was a piss take thing, not a childish revenge thing, ok it was sort of, but at the time it was funny.)
I look in rear view mirror, there is the fat passengeer and now the fat driver sitting forward in the car shaking some coffee beans. I put my window down and give the the thumbs up and a wave, they keep on with the coffee beans as I keep on with the wave.
I turn off to head back home and get stuck at some traffic lights, he's there 2 cars behind me, I think, is he following me? so I didnt hang round to find out, didnt see him again after that. But thought it was extra strange as wasnt really a main road we went up, may have just been coincidence.
Every other person I saw all day was: "wow look at that car" etc and wanting to talk about it, which I'm always willing to do.
Just struck me as very strange behaviour, have you experienced this before?

I was ttting around with the weaving in and out... and yes, i have been given grief without merit many many times tting around, not that it was harming any other drivers around me or anyone elses business, we awere all stuck in the same queue, if someone had have been overtaking then obviously I would have stopped and pulled into the curb so he could get past.
The point I was making was that your driving antagonised people and any driving that is an 'offence' is more likely to antagonise people.
If you hadnt been weaving and speeding it wouldnt have happened.
Its difficult to condone speeding even if most of us do it so I cant respond to your suggestion that I speed.
Not trying to pee you off but you used words like 'swerving' and 'slowing down to speed limit'. But I also agree with other posters that jealousy etc also played a part.

Al I am trying to understand is why someone would get wound up due to what I was doing, it was affecting no-one, it wasnt dangerous either, as I said I was doing 45 mph or so, not exactly going to spin out of control am I?I dont condone speeding either but we all do it and this is beside the point as he came rushing past me at a greater speed than I had done the whole day.
