Brand new car, within 10 minutes rear wing falls off!! after another ten minutes the mirrors are on the floor!!!! then the bloody bonnet falls off when i barrel roll the Tivver off the track and into a tub of Quality Street. So much for TVR quality. At least the motor isnt knackered.
Merry Christmas all

You got the Tuscan R Scalextrics for Crimbo then Same thing happened to my cars unfortunately. They looked good until I'd set the track up. Then bits started falling off, even with strategically positioned pillows. Then the green one's engine went. Bloody TVRs

I got two of them
One to race and one signed by Shane Lynch and Piers Johnson (my second cousin is friends with Piers)to leave up in the attic for about 30 or 40 years to sell. The one I race doesn't fall apart because I can drive it fast without crashing

he he! I got the TVR set as well, along with the Eclipse and De Walt cars, and the super glue was called into action within 10 minutes!

Great fun though!

Now I just need to get hold of a couple of cars that I don't mind breaking so I can keep the TVRs in mint condition - they're too good to damage!!

Got the set plus the other two individual ones, all to be kept for best, get cheap Speed 12's off Ebay with wings missing etc to blast round the track.

Merry Christmas, Al.

Got the Le Mans T440 as a present just before Christmas. Fell to pieces in about an hour.

I wrote to Scalextic and had a mild moan, suggesting they sacrifice some of the delicate details so the cars didnt break so easily. They wrote back promptly telling me that many of the cars they make are really for collectors and they gave me a list of cars that are built for sustained use.

They also sent me one of the cars from their list.

No probs here with my Eclipse version, except that I trashed the current pickups in a just a hundred 'familiarization' laps on a hastily laid out oval track. Mind you, the other cars I have are no different. Most of them have only three or four wires left to get the juice from the track. I slap on replacements, half an hour later they're worn down enough to cause problems again...
Someone remind me to buy a stack of spares before I get serious with the stuff again (just bought enough extension pieces to build a BIG four lane track)...
