Pioneer displays in soft tops.

Ladies and gents, just need to know that the newer Pioneer car stereo model front panel displays can be seen OK in the sunlight or at least reasonable to change stuff with the lid off. So, asking as there must be a few out there with the newer stereo in the car. The one I have at the moment is ancient and cannot see the display even with the lid on, on a sunny day.


Before the mullet police nab me, lid comes off in the sunshine.

Mine is a 2000 Tuscan and cant see the bloody display at all during the day, wondered if it was faulty but sounds not. Its fine at night.

i keep thinking about upgrading the audio system, but i never really use the current one (just listen to the roar of the S6!)

I defected and got a sony head unit no problems at all

Mine is a KEH p8600r and its been awful since I bought the car. Never found a way to make it useful but it came with a 6 CD changer so it stayed. The Wedge has broken it (changer).

Cheers Podie, take that as a goer then as it looks like the display on the one I am looking at.

Matt, always have to have some chunes ready but know what you are saying. We turn it off in tunnels but sometimes even the most die hard can get fed up of the aural hammering that gives headaches...... 2-3 hour drives to work in the Wedge is probably why I have tinitus.

Sony. Hmmmm, sort of looked but thought although the display was naff the sound was good and it lasted this long in a Wedge.
