Just been asked for a burn!

Popped in to see my mate on the way home from the gym and this guy I know came over and asked how the TVR is. (I was in the golf) I said yeah fine and then he said he wants to give me a 'burn'. I was like huh? He said he's got a new car, a Celica GT4 and wants to 'burn me'. Again i was like why? He said oh y'know just for a laugh! I said yeah whatever to end the conversation and he was all excited saying he's going to see me next wk.

Seriously I'm not 18 hanging around the local burger king or asda car park and neither is this guy so why would anyone suggest such a thing?

Am I the only one to experience this or has it happened to anyone else?

If he wants a 'burn' so bad then he should get to the drag strip and do it properly and safely.

Neighbour has an E type V12 and we keep meaning to out for an *ahem* run together, just for fun as the TVR will be quicker. Now he's also got a Porker carera S . I know nothing about porsches but its got 4 exhausts so I am sure it would give me a good hiding.

So now instead of 'I'll go first lets see how much I pull away' its him who's going to go first and see if I can keep within a mile .....

We never actually get around to do it, this is purely a boys polishing their toys chat.

couple of things....

carrera 4 thingy... don't worry about that he won't loose you and will be surprsed you are still on his tail, love chasing these down as fun....

as for a burn, my neighbour has just got an old G reg MX5 and thinks it's quick, and wants to have ago..... he don't learn I wasted his BM 735 a few years ago .... but seriously I'm not really interested, I just keep the chat up so as not to upset the chap, he can be a nightmre at times but also done me a few favours. Must bear in mind lived opposite hime for 10 yrs and didn't speak for the first 5....

Yup - lets stop right there. We have an old mx-5 and whilst fun it's nowhere near as quick or handles as good as a Tiv.

I must admit, after driving my Tamora, when I get into my other car which is an MR2 it's like driving a bus - gutless;), and the MR2 is a reasonably quick car.
