Shiny bits/or not?

Now I have my Tiv the question is, do I spent time and money 'personalising' (didn't like to say 'modifying' as getting into maxxer territory 
) with various shiny bits?
The sort of thing I mean are the various alloy switches, stalks, trim, etc that are available (perhaps not so much for my 'S'). This is obviously a very personal thing, but I just wondered what other owners do.
Some of these 'add-ons' undoubtedly look the part, but there is certainly something to be said for keeping it original too.... plus it leaves money for more fill-ups, and more fill-ups means more miles and more grinning!

I got some Leven goodies for Christmas. Definitely recommended.
Fitted the Ash Trays, Dash Buttons, and Handbrake Lever so far - makes the interior look so much more classy.
Still got dash vents and column stalks to fit. Unfortunately, window switches wont fit my car though - mine seems to have been made with the switches too close together!

It's not like your cropping, a work of art!
My purchased Leven bit's and pieces, (oooerr) have certainly complimented the original brushed ally dials and knobs, IMHO. (cue Podie)
I prefer to think of it the other way round
My Vauxhall has TVR stalks, and it makes me feel at home when I'm not driving the tiv

I'm slowly coming round to the idea of maxing my interior
Light swiches and fan knob first, then the handbrake/vents/levers to follow. Personally I'd like to do away with the ashtrays altogether but a door re-trim will have to wait.
Not sure if she has any pictures but Ellejay's Chimaera has all the bit's on it and it looks brill.

I'm not suggesting they do. I like the shiny bits and have seen various Tivs fitted out to very good effect. Just interested in whether others like to spend their pennies on such things, or don't bother and just get on and enjoy the
Chances are, if the appropriate parts become available for the 'S' (see posts on 'S' forum) I will invest in some.
I generally like the leven alloy bits to add a more classy look to a TVR interior. However, I do think you can sometimes go overboard if you go for everything in alloy. The odd shiney bit here and there is nice IMHO.

Must say I cant stand the TVR plastic handbrake handles and the leven one came with me to the chim. Fancy some of the indicator stalks too but think I will be leaving it there.

My car already had sill protectors, handbrake handle and a tasty gear knob () when I got it. I may leave it at that, but then if other parts become available (stalks esp) who knows!
By the way, shnozz, did you fit the ally dial rings to your old S3? If so, where did they come from... I quite like the look of those!
...hmmm, all that said though, I would like to save some pennies for a rolling road session one day.

wouldn't mind an alloy handbrake, but would like to save for a Mark Adams/Rolling Road session. So lets see..... ~£800 for the session, and around £200 to soften Mrs kdd up to the idea

Those bits were fitted by the former owner but from speedy cables IIRC. Feel free to drop the link to the pic in the S forum and ask in there, sure others have got the same.
I have a very original pre-cat Griff,and have gone for a more subtle aproach with the shiny bits.
Alloy handbrake to match the gear knob, black anodised dash buttons to match the dial rims (special order these,much better than the shiny plastic ones,),black anodised stalks and column adjuster,(not the full column kit) all from Leven. Have also fitted Griff door button to the bonnet pull as per Richb's car.
Thats it for me now,I kept the old bits and what I have done is easily reversible if required, even the stalks as the column switches unplug from the column without disturbing the loom so a trip to the breakers could put it back to original spec.
