David Vizard at Austec

Afternoon all,
I'm not sure to what extent this is in the public domain, so if you already know read no further, but David Vizard will be at Austec from 9am to 5pm this weekend Saturday and Sunday. As far as I understand it, there'll be a couple of presentations each day with Q&A sessions following and the rest of the time David will be available to speak to anyone who wishes to speak to him.

I have heard nothing but good things about this man Vizard, a true genius by all accounts, but with my mechanical understanding anything he tells me will be lost.
However, I'll try to pop along and see if I can engage him in a converation about the true meaning of life
(or recipes my gran used to make

Hi Steve! Hope you amd Mrs T are well.
It's Ian here, I still have "Burbl" or "C18MRA" as she's now known! nearly done 100K and only had a couple of minor issues. On my second Bosch MAF, Radiator Re-cored, but now I have the "hot Start" problem and will need a new Starter motor soon! not bad going! I need to run her on a RR as I'm not sure if the Cam is getting a little tired? did you ever have her RR tuned or have a print out? etc? for a comparison when I get her on the rollers.
As to the original Post! Is the Mr Vizard the in question the guy that used to write for "Fast Car" Magazine back when it was for guys like us (late 80's) and not the "Chav" type of magazine it's become!

In fact I missed their open day for Tuscan racing as well! They should take this into account next year as I'm sure the racing type people would love to listen to 'Mr V'.TVR Thunder said:

Wow 100k, nice going Ian! Re. the hot start issue, contact dlewis via this forum and you may well be able to avoid the standard solution of replacing the whole starter when you don't need to - it's more likely a sticking solenoid. I don't think I have a dyno chart but from memory she started with ~250bhp running quite lean and made ~285bhp when finished, so not huge power for a 5 litre but I she was certainly a lot more spritely when I drove her for the first time post remap! Glad I'm not the only sado that can remember the serial number of a cylinder head I put one of those on my Austin A30 .. it had the bigger A35 engine.. now we are talking big power

...water heated inlet manifolds, single 1 3/4 SU. His book was a bible to a young impressionable me.I had a mini van that did 120mph and 0-60 in 7.5 secs. Not that fast until you realise it was around the time of the XR3's that were about 9-9.5 secs
