So anyway...

I was driving home this evening on the A30 when I had to stop at some lights. Being red and all that. As I waited for them to change back to green other cars joined me in the wait.

When the lights went green I pulled away and went up through the gears. Nothing dramatic, short changes at about 4000 RPM. I look in my mirrors and all the other cars are way way behind in the far distance.

I wonder what would have happened if I'd pressed the loud pedal all the way down!

You'd probably have gone a bit faster than if you'd not quite pressed it all the way down.

Funny things those accelerator pedals....

Edited to say...good fun though isn't it!!!

I switched on my left indicator to turn into the work car park this morning. I wonder what would have happened if I switched on the right indicator?

WTF?

Presumably if you'd gone the same way as you were indicating, you wouldn't have made it into the work car park??? Who knows where you could have ended up!

ah yes, you are quite right.

also this morning when i shut my backdoor I turned the key to the left to lock it, I wonder what would have happened if I had turned it to the right.

Hold on, I know that one. It would be an empty house when I got home.

They haven't made acceleration 'socially unaccpetable' yet. But I expect they're working on a camera to detect it and pillage your bank account directly. What a pity cameras can't spot criminals, otherwise they might become 'socially unacceptable' too...

If you indicated right but turned left check you aren't in a BMW

Aaarrrr, the old bus driver trick Please let Buses pull out, or whilst people are boarding I'll put the right indicator on so you can sit there frantically flashing your lights to let me out.

It's better than that. Buses have cameras so you can be fined if you dare put a wheel into their precious buslanes (those bare strips of tarmac with stationary cars packed nose-to-tail next to them). So soon, if you don't let the bus pull out, you'll find £100 missing from your next bank statement...
(can I be fined for using a Logitech keyboard on a Wednesday?)
