Crazing?

Could anyone please 'explain' this term to me (maybe even post a photo?)

i.e. what 'grazing' looks like (no mention of cows in fields thanks! ), how it has happens etc.

I have what I assume to be a small area of 'grazing' on the boot of my V8S, but unfortunately I haven't yet got a digital camera to post a photo myself.

An asterisk shaped 'raising' of the paintwork is what I meant.

(Proof if anyone needed it that I'm new to this lark! )

Yep Crazing and you've just explained it yourself.

Cracks in the Fibreglass/paintwork.

I've edited the to title to Crazing, so no need for the hat!

If it's on the rear flank, might be caused from the inside by something heavy flying about in the boot during fast cornering?

can be caused with different types of paints reacting to each other...have you had any repairs/paintwork carried out in this area?

You've obviously had a close look at the left rear of my 3000S, John.

Moral, always remove the trolley jack from the boot before you go out on the track..

I had a load of tiles in the boot, they shifted while I was driving and hit the inside rear wing. I've now got an area about 3" square that looks like something under the paint has cracked.

Moral of the story is to not go out shopping in the Tiv with the lady.

Actually, its a smallish area (< 2 pound coin area) on the rear off-side top of the boot, to the side of the boot lid. I would have thought that more damage would have been caused if it was 'flying' luggage.?

I've reasonably recently bought it, but I'm pretty sure no repairs etc. that have been done.

Still, its no too bad. Just something to keep an eye on. The car's in pretty good shape, but does need a few little things doing (mostly cosmetic or irritations).
Its going in to a local TVR specialist next week, so I'm expecting a list of 'things to do in the future' and the V8 to be running smoother than a thing that runs really smoothly!
