Finally.....I'm in the same century as everyone else!!!!!

Would all Mid Essex members note that I have a new email address...the mail has gone out.

A couple of you have offered me videos of the meets and convoys.....I am now able to download them without the server having a nervous breakdown and would love to see them.

New mobile number on Monday....

All this new technology...I'm going to have to go and lie down.......

My broadband isn't brilliant I have to say .. it is quicker than before but only cos before it was glacially slow to d/load anything ... it was described to me as like changing channels on the TV .. was i expecting too much. Average PH page takes about 2 secs to d/load..

main benefit for me is i can surf PH all day and Vicky can still use the phone

Got mine wired in this afternoon.
Absolutely fantastic.

Tip:

If your BB is slow, check out the upload/download speed on www.adslguide.org

Also make sure all your extensions have a microfilter on them or you will get a lower than normal BB speed.

Just had another Mid Essex download from David of today's Suffolk meet and Alf's new 'CCC's on the Tuscan.

Wow...what a sound........excellent stuff.

I can see now what will happen.....

I'm going to need more memory for the computer next to take all these 14MB+ downloads..........

Glen...have you registered your interest on the internet yet?

I did a year or so ago.

Holland needed 450 people to register an interest before telecom would consider putting it on line....when I registered there were 45 people logged!!!!!

Recently someone made a great deal of it in the local paper, putting out a call to people to register and lo & behold, within 5 months....broadband to sleepy ol Holland on Sea.

Lots more money....but worth it already....especially as my nice Mid Essex members keep sending me huge photos to download.........

Not much fun before, but great now!!!!

Anyway.....my advice...after all this rambling on....is to register on the internet..

P.S. Luca....you have mail sweety.....

Thanks for the tip Coach - useful site
I've been with NTL for some time (600 - £25 /month)Some days it seems very fast, but a lot of the time I feel I'm not getting what I pay for, I did not realise you could check!

Any chance you could put this in simpler language?

If you get your broad band through the phone line (ADSL), then you should have got some microfilters which are little gadgets that plug into your telephone extension sockets. You need to have one microfilter for each phone point in you have a phone plugged into it as well.

Are you still running that PC that came from Noah's surplus store? No good having fast broadband internet and a clockwork PC

Mind you, the internet seems to be getting a lot slower now that a lot more people have broadbamd.

H Pauline - glad to hear at last that you are finally enjoying broadband! Is there any chance that I could have your new mobile number, or are you going to mail all the Mid-Essex members with it anyway?
