TOYO T1-S Advice

Following Simons Acident last year (21TVR) it sound like some people are not aware of the T1-S warning that should be handed down by the Tyre Fitter


Bit of advice i had from a TOYO Sales man, T1-s Proxies. Do not grip very well when new (less than 200 to 300 miles) They need this to get rid of the relesing compound on the tyre. This should be filter down the chain as general advice to go easy for a few hundred miles to bed the tyes in.

Was Simon on brand new Toyo tyres at the time of his mishap?

i understand if you can avoid ragging it for the first 1000 miles it extends tyre life considerably, don't know why. I believe this and the releasing agent warning applies to all tyres, not just toyo.

if I understand correctly, the tyres continue the curing process with the warming and cooling of the tyres in use. too hot too quick can screw them.
