Advise needed! Looking for cheap T350 or Tuscan with damage

A few days ago a truck crashed into my parked Chimaera 450. What a shame!
Now I am struggling for the compensation cover from the opponent´s insurance. Depending on their payment I will decide whether to restore my car, which I have driven for the last 2.5 years or switch to the next stage:
Anyone who knows a damaged Tuscan or T350, which was mint preaccident? Backed up with efficient body repair and mechanic experts I am looking for a budget of less than to GBP 10.000-. My dream car would be white with black interior and a target roof, but a troublefree engine is highest priority.
If this is too optimistic, I will repair my Chimaera and save a few thousand grand.

sorry to hear about your car,as for your question,i think your being very optimistic in your requirements for a t350.look under the classifieds,there is a firm,D.M.K. who have damaged,repairable t350's for sale but imo,THE MONEY TO BUY ONE AND SPEND GETTING IT PROPERLY REPAIRED,YOU WONT BE TOO FAR OFF THE PRICE OF AN OLDER MODEL.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
For information, I crashed my Mk1 Tuscan earlier this year.
The insurance were very good, made a fair valuation by checking cars available with similar rebuild etc.
The damage was only "plastic" with no chassis issues but the repair center wanted over 12,7k pounds.
It was an early 2000 model and I took the insurance and my Wifes advise to take the money.
The insurance wanted nearly 5k buy back but again I followed my Wifes "use the money to buy as new as you can" advise.
I later heard that the Mk1 was for sale and sold at a local breakers yard as a repairable for 4k.
I also heard that a new rear end would have been about 1,5k and a similar for the front panels.
I am sure from other advise that the repair costs would have been a lot less but as I work away I couldnt have done any of the labour.
Long and short is that you may be able to find a car at a reasonable price and if you have the skills, keep to a reasonable repair cost.

My decision will be based on the compensation the insurance will offer me. A first estimate showed approx. GBP 13.500.- of damage(repair cost), I can do the repair well under that price. If I add an eventual additional income of a few grand from the parts sale resp. a wreck auction, then I would have about gbp 15.000.- for a new car. The third option besides keeping the Chimaera, switching to Tuscan or T350 would be walk away with extra money and no toy.

bear in mind,repairs are not cheap,even a decent re-spray is expensive.

now a probably often stated question - when buying any speed six tvr does one have to investigate the engine rebuild/recond issue or at least calculate it for the future? what can be done the reassure oneself at the time of purchase against the risk of such expense?
I definately think you can get your dream car for cheaper if you buy the right damaged one!
I think the trick is to get a car which is well maintanied pre-accident and no chassis damage, the rest can be sorted.

Dear Ed, this is a very interesting information. ALthough I planned to do the repair job at home, I am sure that SPA can be very helpful selecting a proper damaged car for me and if at the end will work out within my budget why not let them do the job! If it occurs that it is too expensive for me, I can offer them a premium for a good find. However I will contact them straight after insurer´s green light for the funds of the project. On the other hand he would probably be able to take my Chimaera as well.
