What's the longest you've left your Tiv?

........and it's started with no problem? I mean totally abandoned it - airport carpark, garage at home, that sort of thing. No battery conditioners/chargers or bump starts allowed. Has the car been okay afterwards and not had any battery problems?

Reason I ask is my Chim will have been languishing in the garage at home for nigh on 3 weeks soon, I really must get out in it this weekend! It's not that I don't want to drive it, just that I haven't had the time.

Two weeks.. I was away on business the whole time... made sure I took it for a good run before I went.. came back, and she fired up first time.

Lives in a garage, but no battery charger / conditiner...

Longest I've abandoned it is 2 weeks, parked outside, in winter, on the drive, while I went somewhere sunny
It's getting used to the good life now though, with it's nice warm freshly painted garage, with a constant drip feed of electricity

2.5 weeks and outside. Took it for a run the night before I left, and upon my return fired up first time as if it had only been left overnight.

12 days outside at the airport over winter, started no problem when we got back.

I leave mine in the garage for weeks on end (nagging wife etc), and never have a problem.

All i make sure of is that i disconnect the LT leads on first start and operate the starter until oil pressure registers, which gets the bearings oiled up before she fires up.

That is assuming your immobiliser hasn't sapped your battery of course.

Just roared through your hometown in the Tiv. Did wonder if I'd see you out and about...

...poor thing, shut up inthe garage, abandoned and unloved!

Suppose you do have a valid excuse though. New family didn't I read somewhere? (congrats)

If you want an excuse to get out, I'm sure a few other local Tivvers would be too!

Am deffo going to get out this weekend though, rain or shine!

Have got another I want/need a Cerb itch coming on, so need to do some roof off stuff!

just got back from states after 3 weeks, freezing weather here and car had a thin layer of ice over it....

started first time (as it has done EVERY time sibce i've had it)

So 3 weeks is okay then? Really must get out this weekend. Haven't had the hood down since it was replaced in early December!

Its done just over three weeks in the garage without the alarm off, but would only do just over a week with it on.

Stuggles a little, but then fires up nicely

Mine used to start after a 2 week layup (with alarm/immob on). Anymore than that, then no chance.

At the moment, the battery is too flat after 6 days to start the car!

Maybe time for a new battery, although the friendly RAC man says there's nothing wrong it????

20 days in garage and it was fine.
Do have a TRICKLE charger but (finger's crossed) not used it so far. It came with the car it lives behind the passenger seat in a hidey hole.
