Blades for Leven Wipers

Got the Leven wipers on the Griff, but the rubbers are getting a bit worn. Have contacted Leven to find that the replacement blades are £25 a pair, obviously because they include the water jets which are custom attached.
Has anyone tried just replacing the rubbers and if so, what with - the problem is likely to be getting something flexible enough to deform to the curvature of the windscreen on the nearside.

I was wondering if it was possible to get the washer head off the Leven blade and stick thenm onto an ordinary replacement blade?

Possibly, but what sort of blade? It would have to be very flexible to cope with the curve of the screen. Most off the shelf replacement blades have a metal strip which only allows so much flexibility. Remove it and you lose the mounting and the blade is so floppy it won't work at all. Does anyone have a part number for the original TVR blades as that might be worth a try?

I used ordinary Halfords/Bosch replacements and use much shorter blades 13" and 14" and they bend nicely and wipe more than enough of the screen without most of it hanging in the air like a 16 or 17" blade does.

Appologies for thread hijack, but I've been looking for Leven wipers for my car on and off since I've had it. Leven don't list them anymore, are they still available anywhere ?

Go to the leven site and follow the "click here" link under "Latest News" on the right hand side ... then scroll down.

How easy are these to fit - do they fit directly onto the existing washer hose? What is the per4formance of the spray like - better than the standard plastic tube with a few holes in?

As easy to fit as any std blade, yes the hose went straight on, and the jet is much more focused onto the leading edge of the blade, the water seemed to 'blow' away less than before at speed.

Cheers for that, have just ordered a pair. I always found with the standard washer tubes that the drivers side gets 75% of the spray, and also that the drivers blade makes much better contact with the screen. Hopefully this will improve the nearside spray and blade contact at the same time.
