Z3 with the roof down?

'Amazing', I thought, as the Z3 approached me on a chilly February day.'They have their roof down!'.

Only as it got close did I see the reason for such hairy-chestedness: they'd bought a houseplant that was too tall to fit inside!

Don't know if you have noticed but New Audi A4 owners seem very keen to drive around with the top down.

They want to be like TVR owners.

IMO, the only TVR that should have it's roof on, it a Cerbers, or a Tasmin FHC. If it comes off, take it off.

Same goes for womens clothes, on women, of course :

Not a problem. As soon as they get home to the salon they can just spend 5 minutes giving each other a quick trim and dry to sort it out.

last night-spitting with rain, dark cold and miserable, just spent 2 hours fitting a new alternator and thought hey- go for a drive
roof off!!
45 mins later one very happy chappie (alittle wet but the PH beanie helped)

Get 'em off!!

when they got home they probably opened the bonnet up and fixed their hair as the engine doubles up as a hairdryer. ingenious design really!!

you could do the same with your tvr but you'd end up in casualty having been savaged by it!!

I think it's because they have very effective heaters and you don't actually get any sensation of being out in the elements, just the concept of it.

My previous Z3's 3.2 litre, straight six, 321bhp engine might take issue with that particular comment.

As an aside, I used to have the roof down on the M Roadster in winter more than the Griff because 1) it took far less time to put up/down, thus I was more likely to take advantage of windows in the weather 2) rain didn't come into the cabin as much with the roof down and 3) the heaters worked properly.

Of course my current TVR doesn't have a roof at all, or much of a floor come to think of it, nor a heater - unless you count that big AJP thing

I've alway put it down to Audi unreliability and a lot of broken roof mechanisms...

Notwithstanding the 3000S, what about every other TVR produced from about 1955 until 1980
