For the first time in weeks, popped out to the garage to say hello to the TVR.
Looks like all that snow proved too heavy..

Crikey
Hope there's not too much damage, could have been disasterous.

Blimey Ed, that's not good. Presumably all damage is covered on the house insurance rather than the car...? Hopefully the insurance co will pay for that new brick double garage and heated marble floor you're in desperate need of!

Something like that!
They reckon the TVR isnt covered under their policy.

redface They'll likely say that anyway.

I trust that won't be the last conversation you have with them on that subject ?

I'd have thought damage to the TVR is covered under the car insurance, rather than house insurance.

I think you will find that your car damage will be an exclusion on your house insurance.

Thought this might be the case actually, didnt expect there'd be any crossover.

And yet if your garage blew over onto a neighbour's car, you house insurance would pay. Odd huh?

Not really that surprising - that would be under the third party liability cover that all household insurance has. When a lad rode his bike into the front of my (stationary) Chim, the parents household insurance covered it.

My missus ( ex insurance) reckons that motor vehicles and their accessories are normally excluded from domestic policies under a general exclusion as they have their own policies. Look at your policy and you'll probably find it's a general exclusion - along with things like radioactivity and acts of war etc.

Snow's not likely to be an 'Act of God' is it?
I wouldn't think so. But either way the poor structural integrity of the Garage roof is all your fault. The snow didn't damage the car. The dodgy garage did.
