Right, I'm about the maddest I've ever been now, so bear with me...

I was just on the way back from the cinema through the town centre about an hour ago, and right in the middle stopped at a set of traffic lights. As they changed to green I set off and got up to about 5/10mph. At this point, a group of pd up girls started running across the road from the opposite side. I slowed down a bit to make sure they didn't do anything really stupid, which of course they did. One fat boorish sow stopped in front of my car and started hurling random abuse at it/me (quite a common occurence to anyone with a nice car in Huddersfield), so I had to stop. Now, I started off politely, ignoring it for a few seconds, assuming she'd do what most similar in-breeds do, and just wander off, dragging their knuckles along the tarmac. But no, she just stands there, screaming & shouting more & more at me. "Do you mind" I shout, "Yes I do fing mind" I get back. At this point she starts thumping the bonnet of my car, and all her mates stand around jeering her on, telling her to hit it some more.

By this point I'm absolutely livid. My blood's really boiling. For the last few years I've worked 80 hour weeks to save for this car. I've been years on end without holidays to make sure I could afford to run it, and it's only since buying it I've come into enough money to really make it a "sensible" purchase.

I was about 2 seconds from either dropping the clutch in first and putting the st out of my misery, or getting out with some sharp implement in my hand from the toolkit and knifing her in the neck, that's how mad I was. And I'm a fairly chilled kind of person. Thankfully, some (big) guy came over and started talking to me through the window telling me it wasn't worth it, and after a while longer, they walked off, throwing crap at the car as they went. I'll have to wait till tomorrow to see if there's any real damage done. And to top it off, there was a police car across the road, with two officers in it watching, and doing nothing. Nice to see I pay thousands upon thousands a year in taxes for something.

So, here's the question, you've got half a dozen of the most foul-mouthed, ill-mannered, waster scum standing around your pride and joy, one of them beating the hell out of it, and you're blocked in by cars queueing behind you. Assuming noone comes up to convince you not to drop to their level, what do you do? How long before you press the "maim" pedal and dispense justice?

This country blows. Breathing should be a privilege, not a right.

Rant over, and apologies for the foul mood.

Not quite a 'run in' but I just had some fat heffer lying on my bonnet

They were dawdling across the road, I stopped to allow them to continue there drunken dawdle when they stopped as well, I beeped the horn and this fat thing wandered up to the car and lay on the bonnet.

She moved when I started to drive forward (slowly) and she realised I was going in the direction she wasn't

And then I got pulled by the police, but that is in another thread (Sounds like the end to a Thomas the Tank engine book )

Booze and Brits make a lethal cocktail, something I haven't seen anywhere else it seems to bring the envy and hatred to the surface of the most mild mannered knuckle dragger. see this thread which seems to be like groundhog day here www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=13&t=80494

Revealing an axe from behind the passenger seat , has proved worthwhile , in my experience.

Edited to say : This particular procedure was used in a city centre one evening ,when some mutant thought it would be a good idea to pretend to Car-jack a TVR in front of his pi55ed up mates .

Really feel for you mate. No win situation, but these people should be done for intimidation at the very least. Small camera mounted on the windscreen would be good (and less obvious than jumping out with yer Polaroid!). That way you could assess the damage later, and make a claim against them as necessary. Surprised no-one's designed somrthing like this already.

J S G Sorry to here about the grief that you got.I live in a sea side resort and as a result tend to attract all sorts in the summer.Had an incident last year whilst driving the Griff on a balmy Saturday evening with the hood down.A group of women crossing the road heard me coming and they picked up the pace and crossed quickly except for one.Yes there is ALWAYS one who when seeing the Griff stood in the middle of the road screaming at her mates F*****g hell look at that, look at that.I gently manoeuvred around her not wishing to be stopped by her but the traffic lights ahead changed to red.As I waited I checked the mirror only to discover that she was tottering on her high heels as fast as she could towards me still very excited.I prayed for the lights to change and they did just in time.I don't know what she would of done if she had manage to stop me.My girlfriend who was with me at the time was not impressed.J S G I don't know how you kept your cool perhaps because it was a woman that you let her get away with it but if it was a bloke I think it may of been a different outcome.Years ago if a women hit me I would offer the other cheek, not anymore.

You did the right thing. After all - if you'd got out and whacked her one (righteously I might add) who is to say some nasty character mightn't emerge from his hole to really damage your car...

Having said that..every fibre of my being wanted you to run her over...

What is it with these scumbags? why do they think that they've got the right to have a go at you, just because you've got something better than they have?

I just don't get peoples attitude sometimes, as you say jsg, you, as have many others, work your butt off, and make sacrifices to own something special......and all they do is slag you off, and think they have a right to damage your property, with no retrebution..

does Joolz do a sidewinder mod yet

Get out your car, put the alarm on, walk over the the police watching and ask them to clear the carriageway of the obstruction infront of your vehicle so you and the rest of the tax paying vehicles behind you can proceed ?

Mind you, the cops would probably arrest you for abandoning your vehicle on the road...

I would have purposely stalled it.. That would of dislodged her...

If the police say anything then you can say it was an accident!

I wonder how much it would be for a pneumatic quick flip steel reinforced bonnet for the Cerbera? Bombs away!!

PS. Seriously might start carrying an axe in the back...
