Racing Sagaris crash on Top Gear

Just watching Top Gear on Dave (the one where they race the diesel BMW on their own home brew) and i noticed a Sagaris on there, only to see someone stuffing it into a the wall a few seconds later

Anybody have any info or pics on the car in question, it looked stunning!

sounds like it was the Sag at the Brit Car a couple of years ago... was wrecked...luckily driver survived, but his racing career is no more.

That was too different years and the same car...

The racesport sag crashed coming out of the pits in 07 the year top gear did the race.

In 08 the same car crashed avoiding Adam Sharpe in the Spinning Mosler, and was then hit by an unsighted Ginetta.

Andy Neate was the driver in the 08 crash, touch and go for a while, but he might actually be back in a race car in 2010..

I was on the pit wall for both races, and im still picking bits of carbon fiber dust out of my keyboard from that crash..( actually managing That particular mosler!!)

If you go to 2:51 on that clip you can see the sag on fire in the pit lane, although IIRC that actually happened on the friday during testing / qually, and they spent the whole of friday night/ sat am putting it back together ( the reason its seen starting from the pit lane for the race)

if you watch the top gear episode, you have to keep an eye out for my electronic pit board the messages got dafter and dafter as the race went on...

Is it likely that Andy Neate could actually race again rather than just drive a race car? I thought that was a no-no for him now because of his injuries and future risks or has everything improved for him recently? Good news if it has.

He's been testing and was considering a full season this year if everything came together IIRC
