Tunnels

Where are the best tunnels in the UK for TVR enjoyment? (obviously gatso-b*@!%rds make things less enjoyable)...

1. The Blackwall Tunnel - very slow, heavy traffic, and you die from the fumes in there (this is not a good tunnel).

Limehouse tunnel sounds particularly good, 3 speed cameras but not average speed (as I've thought they were for the last years) quite far apart and about 4 in the morning you can make some great noises through there.

i like the rotherhithe tunnel, very small and tight, and you can just keep looping back through it

Tyne Tunnel, though not long enough, hopefully TT2 will be longer.

I quite like the A1 tunnel near Hatfield until the road works popped up. It was on my route home when I picked up my old S and my first experience of a TVR in a tunnel.

Also my quickest route out to all the good B-roads in Herts and Beds...

+1 after a mate picked up his Monaro, we went the long way home via hatfield tunnel, and baldock

The Clyde tunnel is the only good one up here near me.

embankment tunnel eastbound is pretty good. camera at the end, and then the ludicruous average speed cameras after that though. especially from blackfriars, as opposed from westminster.

I will say Castle Baynard Street tunnel, the one adjacent to the embankment you just mentioned.

There are a couple under the runway at Manchester Airport which are shortish but have a convenient roundabout at the end so you can go back and do them again.

Great fun (unless you are in a 599 and are called Ronaldo in which case they are positively dangerous! )
