Where has the TVR 4.5 power topic gone?

Unfortunately Piston heads have had complaints from certain parties who feel I was advertising, this was not to be but unfortunately this is what happens when sad people have no balls to confront me in person.

Piston heads are doing a feature on my 4.5 ltr, watch this space

The thread was very informative indeed to where the Speed Six development has progressed in the last 3 or 4 years or so & to what version or versions are available with an incredible reassuring 5 warranty as well & the best bit, fantastic power gains to boot.

What fantastic news for Speed Six cars & owners.

How can you be advertising when it won't be available for 12 months?

Maybe someone else should post a thread discussing the 4.5 engine they hear TVR Power are bringing out next year, and how they plan to get one in the future... In fact they plan to be the FFFirst real customer (sorry I have a slight stammer).

Grrr. seems pretty crass to me.. Maybe we should gang up on Ted and have polls on advertising as it is quite a fine line for those with vested interests.

Anyway Dom should certainly get more leeway than others because he is the nearest thing to factory support we have these days IMHO? It's not Power is some one man / leaky garage / bedroom upstart making big using the cover of the internet.. Generally posters like Dom & Rob at V8D have shown great tact in their postings and for sure their past contributions to PH should count for something. I'm not convinced it is easy for mods to follow rules, or even write the rules, but surely their should be some common sense and consensus applied as well? The flipside as I see it is that PH will discourage these posters from contributions which will devalue the site, and I can't see any of us wanting that.

Was it the contentious blower cost that caused the problem? - which wasn't a bad estimate to it properly IMHO.

It would be better if the mods or powers that be were more consistent at times, I know it is off topic but twice I have had threads removed re selling my car with PM's telling me off to which I always replied take a look there are lots of people doing it why me to which I got please point them out or something similar! Methinks if you can find my posts quite easy to find others as lots of them every week...

It was me that deleted the thread after a bit of discussion with some of our mods and in reaction to a couple of reports from other users. Nothing particularly controversial about that; regardless of when Dom makes this available, it is advertising, which isn't permitted (not a Haymarket initiative that - we inherited it from Ted) and we have to be as even handed as possible with such reports when we receive them.

However the thread itself was interesting and we want to cover more stuff like this on PH as we know that it makes for interesting and useful reading for any TVR owning PHer. To this end I've suggested that Dom send the words and pictures to our Riggers to see if he'd be interested in running a story on it. It isn't a promise of a feature - ultimately that'd be Riggers' call. However I'll be putting in a good word for this and I see no reason why they wouldn't want to feature it. The story will benefit from a wider audience and will be available for comment and criticism when it goes live.

Hope this explains why we've done what we've done.

Sorry, I thought you'd said it was entering rigorous testing in your own car in the original post, after which it would be sold. Maybe I was confused.

He said that he'd done testing and that three had been sold already. Would be easier if PH could re-instate the other thread. Or do we have to have wild guesses at other items like £8.5K cost?
