On saturday i fitted a new radiator to the chim. Filled
it with coolant, bled it (as much as i could) drove it
home from my garage, job's a goodun.
Yesterday it wouldn't start!?!
Still no joy today.
Battery fully charged
Fuel pump primes
Tries to catch, but won't fire
what's going on?

it's trying to fire. Will check for a spark.
Is it possible that an air bubble around the ECU temp sensor, giving a
false temperature reading, could causing this problem by overfueling?

Personally i'd check all the simple stuff first.
Check you're getting a spark at all the plugs. Check the leads, the distributor, rotor arm etc.
Of course, i'll check the obvious stuff first.Check you're getting a spark at all the plugs. Check the leads, the distributor, rotor arm etc.
It's just that the car was running perfectly saturday afternoon
then overnight something happened to stop it running? I can't
understand how that works! Pretty sure I didn't dislodge anything
while I was changing the rad.
I know this will not help solve your problem but back when I had a V8S it decided to just die on the dual carriageway at 70 mph.Subsequent investigation found that the immobiliser had cut in and the fuel shut off valve designed to work after an accident had operated at the same time.If they can do that then anything can happen overnight so may be worth resetting the cut off unit just in case.

Hi John
Dont know if the Chims are the same as T350s but we had a similar problem with flyings car on friday which we traced to a blown fuse on the coil circuit, sure you will have but if not check all fuses on ecu/ignition/fuel pump with a tester as they dont always look as if they have blown.
Hope you get sorted soon.

Sounds abit odd if it started when you pulled the relay out, shouldnt do anything without the relay in place.
Have you tried putting a different relay in the fuel pump location/can you hear the pump prime when you turn on the ignition?
There would enough petrol in the combustion chambers to fire Sounds abit odd if it started when you pulled the relay out, shouldnt do anything without the relay in place.

the engine if the state of the plugs is anything to go by!
The relay just stops the pump supplying any more fuel to
my,already flooded,engine
