My Griff's just back from its annual sojourn to the Dulford Health Spa & Clinic.
It was due the annual service, 6k this time as the 12k last year but I had a few other odd jobs that needed sorting including replacing the gearbox, getting the shocks rebuilt/refurbished, swap exhaust manifolds, sort out the heater and sundry other bits and pieces.
Long story short: excellent work as usual from Richard, Colin and the rest of 'em.
My Protech shocks, with which I've been very happy, are getting on a bit so thought an overhaul was a little overdue. I was originally quoted something like £45 a corner but once they were returned to works they are so old and most of the parts no longer stocked they 'returned' pretty much new shocks - for £65 each! Now that's customer care and more - top service Protech.
All the other work by Dulford was of the usual high standard. What I like is their integrity - to modify the 'plumbing' for the heater it is necessary to remove the nearside headlamp pod. In doing so the goop that had been used to seal the cover bonded rather well to the paint so a small area was effectively chipped off. They took a photograph of the damage and had it 'made good' - they didn't need to mention it as the fix is invisible but I appreciate their honesty.
Because much of the 'sundry' work I referred to was nasty, spiteful little jobs the labour charge crept higher than I would like but I'm certain that if I'd been charged full-whack for the actual amount of time spent on it, it would have been substantially worse.
All in all another recommendation for Dulford Autos.
And just because I'm going on about Dulfords doesn't mean I have 'lost faith' or otherwise with the others I use; Neil Garner and Forza West are also top johnnys.
