Beginners luck?

It was York Dragways 'Nite of Champions' last night.
Added 2 trophys to the little collection, winner of the 'Hotrod Challenge' and 'Most promising newcomer' 2009.
Im quite chuffed

I always struggled for grip last year despite the Mickey Thompsons (that people told me would break my driveshafts ), i think my old Bilstein suspension with too much camber let me down with a best 60 foot time of 1.85.
This year will see properly set up race 3 way Nitrons on the rear and more weight shifted to the boot so im aiming to knock another tenth or so off for low 1.7's which should see 3 tenths over the 1/4.
If i get the power im hoping for from the nitrous then low 11's should be on the cards.
Just got to rebuild the whole car still

Tell me; did you buy the car with view to ragging the hell out of it on the 1/4 mile? The progression thus far has seemed very natural! Top notch. I'd love to have a drag car.

I bought it with the intention of doing track days and to put it up the 1/4 also.
I used to take a Rover SD1 to the RWYB events 20 years ago.
I ran a 12.2 on my second days running in the TVR and was hooked and entered the hotrod challenge for a proper racing experience. Excellent fun ;)

I suppose my humble S would need a power boost (plus chassis/brakes/pretty much everything) to compete with the likes of that!

Once again, the success you've had with the simplistic TVR + N2O is fantastic.

You are exactly the type of person my site is aimed for - someone who regularly competes on the strip. I have lots of plans for the site, but any suggestions/comments you have would be appreciated.
