So, having been a busy, but very happy, sunny, bunny over the Easter weekend I did not get time to post a reply re the Chatsworth meet until now. Only to find that Teds been out with the Swan Vestas again, Dhooo!!

Anyway, under the TVR "Prime Directive" of "Rules are made to be broken"............
I'd just like to say well done to "filmidget"

Start as you mean to carry on.......

------------------------------------------------------

I am shocked. No, I am stunned.

Just casually mentioned the 09/06/02 meet to the fiancée... and she quite happily agreed that it would make a nice day out. And I hadn't even mentioned going out for lunch.

A cynical man might suspect I will end up paying for this later in some way, but not me of course

SO pleasantly surprised I just had to tell you all. Should be a ickle blue Midget joining a convoy, if I get my arse moving and get in that garage.

Cheers, Phil

I have a friend who used to take first dates to the local working men's club, watch the turn, play bingo, the works. All this under the theory "Sift out the pretentious snobs and gold diggers on day one. As you can imagine it was generally a "fait accompli".

I would say that your fiancée has just passed a similar if not quite as sterner test with flying colours.

And why my need to post a note of congratulation to you on this subject????????

Errrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

Well...........

I normally try and plan something special for the wife's birthday myself, this year however it would appear you lads have done it for me.

Yes you guessed it, I came home the other day to announce to my better half that I would be taking her out on her birthday.................

To Chatsworth.

See you all there.

Well I did call into Wedge Automotive yesterday and had a natter to Richard as he was liberally applying glass fibre resin to his race car in preparation for tomorrows Tasmin Challenge.

Do you think I might still be under the influence?

Under the influence of the resin that is, not Richard.

If an old girl like me, who will be a year older on 9th June, can get enthusiastic about going to Chatsworth I'm sure you will have no probs with your fiancee! I even got 'the flag' sorted out for my old git! CALLING ALL ATTENDEES TO CHATSWORTH bring your women with you wherever possible - we can cook , we remember things like food and the drink , plus we can drive you home afterwards if you let us!!!! See you there on Sunday!

Warning O/T, and a right good winge at that.

Thanks for the encouragement (and Emails Raceboy and B-o-Sheff) but it all went horribly wrong...

Starting with the Saturday when the bride, her mother, her sister (specially up from London, and a bridesmaid) and my best mates girlfriend (another bridesmaid) tried to decide on one bridesmaids dress... which hadn't reached a conclusion after 5 hours... need I supply the gory details!?!

By contrast, me, best mate/man, and both fathers sorted our outfits in 21 minutes! (including walking to the hire shop!)

Then fiancee genuinely happy for me and mate to go to Chatsworth, which mates girlfiend wasn't impressed with 'cos she got dragged up to see Fiancee's family.

Plus the Midget wasn't ready (not for lack of time and sodding money), so had to take the crappy Scirocco, which I hate driving for many and varied reasons (which I won't go into here)

And I missed an Email on where the local convoy start was 'cos my cable modem router had to be switched off as its noisy and in the guest room.

So with the friction of the previous day and a half, the sodding rain, my jealousy at all the shiny throbbing sportscars, and slight disinterest of my mate, I was not really in the mood to try and say hello to people.

Rant over - Hope everbody else had a good time

Cheers, Phil
