Two of the buggers to be precise, aiming for around 600+BHP, The engines being build from the ground up with bits from the states so should be as strong as an anvil,
so the gearbox is going to be the weak link and the most expensive to fix when it goes, i have been looking into lots of different types and TKO 600 seems to be the way forward with good ratios and a choice of overdrive for cruising, I'm now looking at what's involved in fitting

Right, so it is going to have a lot of power. You're doing some homework on this and the TKO 600 is proven to be very good and has four positions to position the stick so you shouldn't have to cut the tunnel. I can only give opnion from using one myself but I'm happy with mine. Good project but I'd be concerned with the heat the turbos generate, but I don't really know about this stuff. If you can overcome that then WOW FANTASTIC.

The alternative is to talk to CTS (gearboxman) and get him to uprate your T5 with his Quaife made kit. He has customers running 7-800 bhp through it. Exactly the same externally so no changes needed what so ever which saves a lot of time and expense.
I use it on my supercharged Wedge. 540lb/ft of torque. I've snapped diff mounts but the gearbox has been fine.

This was the reply from G force:
Our G-Force T5 transmissions are only rated up to 600 rwhp and 500 ft/lbs torque. It appears that you would have too much power for this transmission.
Bernie also hinted that his all singing all dancing shot peened T5 could still give up if i were to give it some in third when the turbos spooled up.
They were probably just covering there backs as they are rated lower than what i will be putting through it, and i know i will lose traction on road tyres way before max torque is reached,
if they can't / won't guarantee the box because my lump over loads it then maybe the TKO is the way forward,
That said i would love to stick with the T5 as its soooo much easier
I have a bet with Bernie that I can break his T5. So far I haven't managed it. I've broken shafts in LT77 and Cosworth T5 boxes but not his. So far...
My Wedge competes on 12 in wide super soft slicks which don't spin up so all the torque is going through the transmission. The only difference is I have a smooth wall of torque and don't have the sudden step change when the turbos kick in. This does cause a problem in that the torque change can cause more stress than a smooth progression. As such a TKO600 is probably at its limits.
Certainly the TKO will be a radical improvement over the standard T5 but as you say it carries a lot of additional work ... and weight.

I wonder how the box would cope in my situation then....
On the drag strip with very good grip from the track and 255/50/16 Mickey thompson Steet ETs.
A healthy 350lb/ft NA then a progressively controlled but still steep climb in torque to 600 with the nitrous.
The hit in first gear would only reach say 450 lb, 2nd gear 500+
then 3rd and 4th would hit peak torque.
I think the progressive controller would be enough to soften the 'hit'....??

When I'm sprinting, the revs don't drop below 4500-5000 with a change at around the 6500 level. Gear changes are done in about 5-600ms measured from coming off to going on full throttle. The twin plate clutch I use is either on or off so the power delivery is very dramatic shall we say. At 4500, I am putting close to 475lb/ft through the box. The box has done this for a couple of years and countless times.
