PH virgin here so be gentle please !
thinking of having my griff 500 tweaked.
big valve heads,404 cam,ACT triple throttle
the car is already chipped and water injected,
wondering if anyones had it done or any experiences?

Not quite, Apache will twitch if you mention fuel injection , he had V8 Developments convert his car to Carb set up, does have the cam though.
plenty of owners now have these upgrades though.

Not got a 500 but had them do some work on a 4ltr, shall we just say more than happy . They certainly know their onions, Ray has a long history in high spec rover V8s, they are very friendly and will offer the best advice that suits you and your car. Take time to explain to Ray or Shawn what you want and they'll put a package together for you.
Then again reading your post you know seem to know where you want to go .
IMHO in the RV8 world you'd struggle to find any better.

i'd second that.

V8D from the butterflies to the exhaust ports...superb!

friendly, helpful prompt and very reasonable.

oh, and it does work...you will see a substantial improvement on standard, particularly if you have it all done at once .

what i would say is that they prefer the carb route. mainly because its VERY hard to get more that 320-340bhp with injection whereas 360-380 is not too hard with there engines/kit...holley etc.

i wanted to max out the efi route (closer to standard) and am very happy.

For info
V8 Developments Supply practically everybody in the TVR specialist market with engines, they have supplied hundreds or propably thousands. Shaun (who will probably answer the phone) is a top bloke, Ray (proprieter)will bend over backwards to help you and has been building engines for ever, Rob is probably the best engine builder in the business.
Or you could deal through you nearest mainsteam specialist to have a V8D engine/ upgrades/ ACT induction & chip fitted.

reckons with aforementioned tweaks should
realise about 30bhp
is this a fair return for nearly 4 grand.
have you drove a car with this conversion?

Steve Heath (Shpub) recently wrote along the lines of once you've sorted the basic engine each 1 bhp increace will average £100+

I think the figures quoted are realistic in as much as they, or any engine builder for that matter, will not give you too many promises as they will be held to them. Anything above that is a bonus as they say .
I think its fair to say mine released a bit more than that whe fettled by V8D, however it was getting tired at the time and needed it, it really needed it :rollyeyes:.
AS pies says £100 per hp is a fair figure, some come cheaper some more expensive.

Assume 4 grand includes new heads, the V8D big valve heads with the other mods should IMO produce nearer to 40bhp extra. also assume this include the Mark adams treatment.
As previously mentioned allow around £100 per bhp.

had my 4ltr griff worked on by v8d last year, went in with approx 208bhp(readout from previous rolling road) and come out with 258bhp after mark adams had finished his stuff on the rollers.
