Roll Bar -wind noise and fixing brackets
Discussion
Thinking of fitting a roll bar to my early chimaera.
Looks like I will be getting hold of a TVR roll bar(original factory fitment)that will fit a chim or griff.
I am aware that the rear of the bar attaches to the chassis, I have looked and can't see the rear mounting points on the chassis......so I will probably have to find a work around solution so:
1. Has anyone done this before, if so how did you get round the lack of rear mounting points?
2. Once fitted do they create much wind noise (when moving!) or is there any buffeting?
And yes I do know that insurance companies can cane you for fitting these devices.
Thanks,
Steve. G.

Dunno about fitting a factory bar to an early Chimaera (I had a Rollcentre bar fitted to my '97) but I do know about noise - it appears to make no difference whatsoever to wind noise, but it does transmit extra road, diff and fuel pump noise into the car. The difference is quite noticeable.
So far as insurance goes, Mannings said there is no charge for a roll *bar*, although there would be for a full cage.
