Current black plastic radio/cassette (Pioneer - with CD autochanger in boot) looks out of place in Chim with brushed Al Leven accessories and TVR switches/dials.

Does anyone know of a metallic-look radio/cd that comes close to matching the interior? Ideally with flip face.

A few manufacturers are catching on to the fact that not everyone wants a black head unit. Some look really nasty, but there are the odd one or two which look very smart.

I'm a big Sony fan, so I've picked three to look at:
Sony CDX-F7500, Sony CDX-MP80 & Sony MEX-5DI MP3 are all very swish, depending on you budget...

Edited to say - I'd get the F7500, personally - not too pricey, looks smart, not a hint of black plastic

Oh, just found the next model up here

Word to the wise mate- don't post the same thread on two different forums. You already have a reply in the Chimaera forum..

Big Al: you posted a pic of the Pioneer DEH-P8400MP in the other thread. Don't you find this gets in the way of the gear action. I find occasionally I pop the front face off my old pioneer unit with my thumb while selecting 3rd (under competitive pressure) and the unit you've got, with the drop down face, must restrict the gap even more?

Primarily only have it in the open position when stationary, too much to look at when driving the Chim!

The latch is out of harms way.

Main reasons for purchase was ally looks, MP3 player and reasonable performance.

The player that is not the Chim.

I have the same head unit - good kit for not too much money.
Big Al: do you use the remote control on your steering wheel? I found it rarely works, too much light around if the roof is off.

Haven't got one yet, but personally I like the Pioneer DEH-P77MP. Looks a bit retro and nice simple facia. Not entirely bright aluminium finish, but quality brushed metal look and white dot matrix display. Nice.

Very nice brem. How (much) and where did you get the roll bar done?

Eventually opted for an Silver Alpine CDA-9812RB (if I could figure out how to insert a pic, I would)
