Hi all, just got to agree with Matzo on this one. I had my 4.0 Chim done on the same day as his (hope you weren't there too late by the way!
) and would like to say a big thanks to all the guys at Austec and also to Mark Adams. The car runs so much more smoothly and the exhaust note is much more mellow without the nasty tinniness.
By the way, thanks Matt for letting me cannibilise your car for the air flow meter, though I'm guessing my contribution didn't make a particularly large dent in your bill. Still, if your results were anything like mine, which from the sounds of it they were, then it's worth every penny!
I made the rather silly mistake of getting the car done and going on holiday the very next morning, and whilst it was a lovely time away I think my other half became a bit tired of me going on about getting back to go for a drive. These women folk, they just don't understand do they?! (Apologies to all women who actually drive TVRs, you're the exceptions to the rule and you're just as crazy as we are
)
Anyway, thanks again to all concerned, not forgetting Mr Lamont for supplying some lovely-jubbly carbon trumpets.... Mmmmmmmm...... carbon......
By the way, my tuppence worth on the whole Austec vs Peninsula thing. All I can say on the matter is that Mark Adams is at Austec for a reason, that reason being that they're pretty bloody good.

...but mark is happy with the service at Mech repairs / Peninsula.
mech/peninsula in devon/Glos don't compete against austec in surrey.
its a geograpy thing! different sides of the country!
maybe it was a prob at Power Eng in uxbrige! maybe they wee too busy! maybe i should let mark speek for himself
I'll have a word on friday at mech repairs.

So did you guys go along when they were doing your
cars on the rollers the other week.
I would have liked to video my car on the rollers - it sounds really great now .. a real beast.
Did all your cars make good bhp and torque improvements..?
Wish i did have a camcoder on me, could have shown your's dumping neat petrol into the gas analyser and poisoning it
re improvements, not a successful period at present for me or the V8S, been back since then too as well
, but I'm sure Paul and Mike will sort it out, soon
. Out of interest still waiting on something to improve things but shall we say currently about the same power and 20lbs torque down on what yours showed with Mark/Paul. At the end of the day its what it feels like when you drive, its not been on a test track recently but I'm pretty sure it'll hit the limiter in top, which it certainly could do on previous attempts
. Harry
Corin, sorry I haven't replied, I'm just getting a few things sorted in the way of Dyno charts and all that, then I'll do a little thingy on it, to show the before and after numbers and all that. So far though it's definitely crisper throughout the range and sounds a lot more mellow without losing the raw edge (so to speak). I'd definitely recommend doing it and will tell you more about it soon
