I have just finished re-painting the wheels on my Griff. Gone for a matt black finish with yellow centre decals. IMHO look cool but do I now need any sort of laquer on top of the paint to protect it.
I used a special metals primer and then about 5 v.thin coats of spraypaint on the wheel.
My concern is that the laquer sprays I can find in the shops state that they give a glossy finish which is not what I want at all.
I know that spraying wheels is not v. professional and it can chip easily but for a v.scabby set of alloys and and trying to run a griff on a tight budget it is a huge improvement. Also, when a bit more flush I can still get them re-furbed professionally.
Any help regarding laquer or other ways to protect the paint finish a bit I would be v.grateful.

How about Ronseal Satin or Matt finish floor varnish?
I don't think this will this react with the base paint and should make it more durable? Doubt it's available in a spray tho' :scrathchin:
