TVR's and personal appearance

An observation:

On Saturday I took the T350c and went to visit the folks, it's the first time I have taken it on a long journey on my own.

I found that I took extra care in my appearance than if I had taken the Ka. The reason being that I know the 350 gets people looking, so I wouldn't want to be seen not looking my best.

Does anyone else make more of an effort when driving TVR's as opposed to normal cars, or is it just me?

No, cant say I do. If anything, i make less of an effort as the TVR gets driven more at weekends when I'm not forced to wear a pin stripe...

Nope, not really.

Roof off driving is always consistent with one of two things - either thick fleece, windproof shell and woolly hat ('the winter look'), or t-shirt and vertical hair ('the summer look'). Jeans and flat shoes obligatory in either case.

By the time I've checked oil and water and waxed the car, I'm usually so impatient to get out in it that I don't even think about getting done up

Its always interesting going in to dealers of the various marques. Most of the clients, many of whom clearly about to spend big money, are often very casually dressed.

I certainly don't dress up to drive the cars!

it's different in the 350, I don't need to worry about the wind in my hair. I don't tend to bother if I am a passenger either, it just seems to be when I know I will be driving it.

I am exactly the same - usually am checking oil or cleaning it before I drive etc so look even more scruffy than usual in old jeans etc. Then the roof is off so the involuntary scarecrow look takes place. Usually wear stupid hats to make sure i look a complete tw*t when driving the TVR.

I am just as scruffy as always, and like previously said, after checking oil, tyres etc etc, i may even actually be worse. I remember when looking for a TVR to buy and wearing very casual dress, alongside pulling up in a beaten and weathered VW Scirocco, I wonder what the potential vendors thought of me
