Matt Neil, after putting a Nissan 350Z and a Tesco 350C through it's paces summed it up.

"You always feel special driving a TVR"

Ah, but remember... that 350Z had those oh-so special door handles he raved about. No mention of TVR door handles, eh?

And I'm not even going to start on that woman only hitting about 150 down the straight at Brunters...

I'll watch car programs all day long on TV.. I tape Motorsport Mondial from Channel 5 & watch next evening & enjoy it.. I'll watch repeats of Top Gear.. I'll watch boring, processional GPs & love every minute... but I CANT STAND PULLING POWER. I actually shout at the tv, with annoyance, frustation, hate.. with reel passion.

Or is it just me ?

I agree. And was that X5 vs Kia thing THE worst piece of car testing you have EVER seen?

And did you see that guy's expression turn very serious when he got into the T350 - yeah, you're driving a proper car now mate, you'd better pay attention

And his conclusion at the end: If you want a 350Z, buy one, if you want a T350C, buy one. So insightful.

Nearly had the girlfriend slap me I was shouting at the TV so much when they didn't give laptimes or anything.

'Twas a Porker Daz - a 996 C2 I believe.

The idea behind the piece was to take a young, female Fiat Panda driver and try and turn her into a track day God by spending a day at Brunters with Kevin Whatsisface.

In any current generation 911 that would be pathetic.

What was amusing was the way he was very enthusiastic in the 350Z but appeared slightly bored in the TVR. (And was unable to get the back end out to the same degree as he could in the 350z Guess he couldn't handle it )

Anyway that Kevin chap... is he trying to be like that Chris Eubank?

It was. Made worse by that fop in his leather gloves trying to teach her how to drive. [sigh]

That show was possibly the worst car programme I've ever seen (not least because they drowned out the noise of the TVR with lousy music). In 30 minutes and three features they came up with two conclusions:
1. Buy the sports car you like (revelation!)
2. A BMW X5 costs more than the Kia equivalent, and the money goes on getting a nicer vehicle (no st)

I don't even think there was a conclusion to the 911 piece other than "people can drive cars".

Actually, wasn't the biggest mistake pitching a T350 against a 350z? I mean, apart from having 350 in the name they're hardly comparable are they? Power, price, looks....i could go on...

He even started out by saying "If you had 40 grand to spend on a sports car would you get a T350 or the Nissan...." erm, except that the Nissan doesn't cost that much in the first place....

What a load of wank....

Then again, they're only about a year or so behind and everyone else has already done the T350/Tamora Vs Boxter S debate to death.....

Imagine if the 350z wasn't released yet - "Coming up on Pulling Power after the break, which is the best sports car for £40k, a T350 or a Cinqucento...."

OK, i'm overly bitter but that's probably due to the lack of sleep from waiting up to watch it when i was knackered....

Had a look last night, and I couldn't see it. I'm sure there was something about the miners strike on. I'll check next monday.
Cheers JS.
