France midprice break suggestions
Discussion
Hi all,
I'd like to take the S (and the Wife) over to France for 4-5 days at the end of April.
The Chunnel seems to be around £175 rtn where as the ferry/cat is more like £90 - so that's decided then.
Anyone got any mid-price suggestions for places (or one central place) to stay - a nice chateaux easy drive, with plenty of day tips nearby would be perfect. I've spent hours reading past threads on this, but all seem to be a bit pricey for me
Best I've found was on www.chateauxhotels.com but looking for personel recommendations here!
Thanks.

Try this :
FRANCE: Thinking of taking a break? We are no strangers to TVR here. Between Le Mans and Tours. Calm, welcoming Auberge deep in the countryside having very comfortable twin/double bedrooms each with their own bath and shower. Full English and/or Continental breakfast is included. You can see us by visiting Condé Nast Johansens website on www.johansens.com/lahunauderie (sorry about the Morgans!). Contact: Carolyn Hayward, La Hunauderies, Thoiré-sur-Dinan, Château du Loir, 72500 France. Tel: 00 33 (0)2 43 79 3220
I've heard good reports (I've not stayed there), but I believe tht a certain team stayed there last year.

I am going over to Normandy after Easter
, staying at a Campanile (motel type thingy) in Honfleur.
Booked Newhaven-Dieppe + accomodation all through
www.drive-alive.com
All very easy to arrange over the web and quite a good choice of places & hotels at reasonable prices.
(No I don't have shares in them)
