Attempted car jacking, Birmingham
Discussion
Last night a t 6.30 pm, a 3 year old Audi with 5 youths in pulled in front of me as I approached an island. The car then put it's hazard lights on, at this point I thought they'd stalled & couldn't re start, so as I'd left a space, I pulled round them & continued round the island. As I am now driving along a dual carriageway, the Audi came up behind, so I moved over to the left, and it drove past. at the next island they pull in front of me & the 3 rear seat passengers & front seat passenger get out. The first one out stands in front of the car with a sledgehammer raised above his head as the others come towards the doors.
At this point I panic, accelerate & "accidently" send aforementioned, sledgehammer weilding, taliban member, hurtling over my bonnet.
I then turn left at the island, to find a row of traffic, and drive against traffic with the Audi close behind, I can't give any details about what happened next, but will in the future.
Two minutes later, they tried the same on a BMW x5, which also escaped by mounting the pavement.
The Audi used was stolen at gunpoint on Tuesday night, lucky I didn't hang around to get a good look at it.
This was outside Birmingham city football ground, so to the yellow griff I've seen there, be careful.
Good luck
Russell

Did you hurt him, did you, did you? I hope you broke both his scum ridden legs. I also hope the bonnet is alright.
Christ what a lucky escape. You must be well shaken up.

Scum, email me and let me know the rest
Bloody Hell!
Hope you are OK Russel and that the BiB are taking this seriously - this seems to be on the increase - and that there is no major damage to the cerb.
Whats this place coming to - makes you not want to leave the house, never mind take you cars out!
I've lived in Birmingham most of my life and can't beleive how much its gon down the pan of late. With car jacking, shootings and everything else going on (the Tipton Taliban etc..) makes me think about packing it all in and buggering off abroad.

Chris
and for the members of the Blue is Best tendency guess what colour his car is?
Not sure if this means they were so smitten with it they just had to have it or part of a militant opposition group.
on a serious note this is about as scary as it gets and glad you came out of it ok. If there is any justice the sledgehammer will have landed on his head as he fell back to earth.

Hope you did some lasting damage.
Sorry to hear about that, but glad you're OK. I had a similar experience a couple of weeks back, and accelerated away only to get done by a speed camera.
Hopefully you won't get into any trouble for crippling the s
t.Yep, the guy must have been alright as they tried to rob the x5, within 2 minutes.
I was in the police station until 10.15, got home to my local for last orders & had a swift couple of pints.
I live on the other side of Brum, but was going to watch a reserve match at B'ham.
My first reaction was to ditch the car, which I will, but these f*****s aint going to get the better of me, I want a newer faster one.
You cant let these people rule your life, I must admit I was shook up for a few minutes though.
Anyhoo, good advice from my driving instructor 17 years ago, if you can't see their rear wheels, you can't get round them. (thats about 100yds in the cerb)

sorry to make light of the situation but have you seen what Russell does in his profile Joolz
We need to do all we can to get these 'people' off the streets and send them where they belong.
