TVR BABY SEAT

HI ALL..IM LOOKING TO BUY A TVR CHIMAERA IN THE NEAR FUTURE AND NEED SOME ADVICE. HAS ANYONE EVER SUCCESSFULLY BUILT A BABY SEAT INTO ONE OF THESE CARS (YES YES I KNOW BUT ITS THE ONLY WAY I CAN PERSUADE THE WIFE !)AND COULD YOU TELL ME WHO DOES THEM...NO BODGE JOBS PLEASE, MY DAUGHTERS SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT. Unless of course you mean fit a rear facing in the passenger then yes the Maxi Cosi Citi fits fine.

If you are planning you, your wife and your child then see points A to C above...

I know of at least one person who has mounted a child seat in his DeTomaso Pantera and has thousands of miles traveling like that. He lives in the US, and UK regulations may be different but he's had no trouble with the law over the past 4? years?

My first high performance motoring was in a baby seat that Dad made in 1971 and bolted to the parcel shelf of this Tuscan V6.

The 2 year old PatHeald certainly was a lucky chap......

There was an article in Sprint about someone how had mounted a rear child seat in a Chimaera. I remember it being discussed on here at the time. The article didn't mention the legality of the conversion though.

I remember that discussion too........as far as I recall, all but the Cerbera are 2 seaters for insurance purposes so where would your insurance stand with a 3rd person being carried ?

I think you'll find they are 2 1/2 seaters

If I'm thinking of the same article, it was actually a carry-cot with straps for the baby that was attached across the back shelf in the Chim.

Interesting thread above! IMHO anyone putting their own enjoyment ahead of their child's safety are bonkers and not fit to be a parent. If anything happened how could you live with it?

THANKS FOR ALL THE ADVICE ,GUESS THE WIFE WILL BE WALKING THE ONLY REASON I ASKED IS BECAUSE A FELLOW TVR DRIVER SAID IT HAD BEEN DONE BUT COULDNT REMEMBER BY WHOM AND TO ASK YOU GUYS.
